How Could you Define “Quality of Life”?

What comes to your mind when you think about the word quality of life? In this blog, we conceive this notion beyond the restrictive vision of that concept based on economic aspect, merely income and materials possessions. When I talked about the quality of life, it includes different ideas. First, it is intertwined with well-being. It is a subjective concept with real, objective consequences on our lives.
Also, this terminology is linked to your life processes and systems. The different processes of your life are part of a system. Besides, a system is a set of interrelated processes and interdependent elements in interaction aiming a common purpose. You are more than just a body. You are a complex system. Furthermore, your life has several dimensions that encompass your physical, emotional, mental, spiritual, relational or social life.
Therefore, your quality of life depends on the complex interaction among those life dimensions, your environment, your goal achievement, and your value system. More, it is a blend of physical, mental health, spiritual, social, economic and environmental conditions which influence human capacity, potential, and well-being. Accordingly, we perceive the quality of life as a multidimensional concept.
