Life Purpose, Goal Setting, and Quality of Life

My wish for you in 2018 is that you discover your life purpose in case you have not yet grasped it? Finding your life purpose is one of the first endeavors in your life. One way to look at it is to ask yourself: what am I passionate about? What am I on this earth for? When I wake up every morning, what pushes me out of bed? What makes me start my day full of energy, knowing I have to contribute to something greater than me?

You arrive on this earth with a unique skill and ability. That is your calling. This one thing is what only you can do. It is your gift. It is like your fingerprint. No one on this planet has the same fingerprint. Think about it. What if you can find this one thing that is singular and defines you and your mission on this earth? You can then discover your life’s purpose.

You are not an accident. Before you were born, God had an eye on you. He made you for a purpose. That is why you need to discover who you are and your uniqueness on this planet.

Once we know who we are, we must become who we were meant to be. We are born for a purpose, and we must live according to that intention and aspiration. There is not one person like you in the world. Can you imagine that? Envision the gap if you do not fulfill your mission and play your role.

Once you pray to God, connect to the source, and find your life purpose, a divine adventure begins for you. Great coincidences that will change your life happen.

When you surrender, it becomes easier to find your life purpose and relevant goals. You need to get connected to the source so that you can finally take your boat in the right direction.

I see people thinking that they have found their life purpose and ending up frustrated as they notice that what they are doing is not what they want or they were wired to do. They soon realize that their whole life was based on a lie, a complete illusion. That is why some people take a full U-turn once they find their life purpose.

Once you find your life purpose that does not mean you will not have problems, difficulties, and challenges. But your life will become meaningful and have direction.

The next question is what are your goals for 2018? Objectives and goals are more contextual, tactical, and operational concepts. Once you have the big picture, your life purpose, you can have long-term, midterm and short-term goals that will help you fulfill your life purpose.

Do your best to keep an equilibrium in the pursuit of your career, family life, spiritual life, and social life. I do believe that if you sacrifice your family for your career, there is a problem. Or, if on the contrary, you focus too much on your family and forget your spiritual and social life, there is also an issue. The main point is to keep your balance.

Moreover, what matters the most is also to have the courage to live a life true to yourself, not the life your parents, partner, family, friends, or co-workers are expecting you to live.

In addition, some people establish a goal, but when faced with difficulties, they give up. It is important to be proactive and develop strategies to overcome obstacles toward achieving your goals. Also, it is crucial when fixing an objective in life to ask yourself: why?

As well, I advise you that whatever your goal may be, it should be rooted in love. When love is there, everything is there. When enthusiasm is there, when passion is there, you will achieve your goal whatever the circumstances.

You could find more information about goal setting in my book “How to Improve the Quality of Your Life? A Comprehensive Approach and Guide to Well-Being.” Above all, concerning the goal setting function, I ask one simple question in appearance, but it is a complex one. What should your goals in life be? Before you leave this planet, what is it that you should make sure you accomplish? The comprehensive framework I recommended to you in the book is normative, based on a set of standards.

All the trials and test on this planet are necessary so you can develop your character. As your character will be part of your eternity, God wants you to develop a godly character.

That is why you should not waste your time on trivial stuff. You should live a purpose driven life, a useful and meaningful life. Do not get distracted. Focus on the destination and enjoy the process of character development at the same time.

Next, maturity is another part of the journey. You have to grow, and growth requires a change in your life. To change you have to let go of something or decide to acquire new things. That means it may be a painful process as change requires loss and pain. Maturity and growth are mandatory objectives for your life. It is the main way to implement change in your life in a sustainable way.

What other goals do you think you should pursue in life? I would like to interact more with you on this subject. Besides, what should be your goals for 2018? Do you have written down your goal? Or are they just in your mind? Do you have a plan to reach your goal? Please take some time and reflect on those questions.

I hope this blog post was useful to help you in your maturity and betterment process.
